I am a widow. I have my own house, my own car and I am financially independent. I am not a rich widow, but a lonely one. So if you are a fortune hunter, look elsewhere please.

I retired in 2008 after a long career which spanned 39 years. I am also a night owl.

My hobbies are music, philately and photography. I love music and it plays a big role in my life. I can listen to Dozi, "The Mikado" and Mozart all in one day. I have a wide spectrum of likes and choices. I also love ballet. I also have my own piano.

I am a very straightforward person and you will always know where you stand with me. I respect other people's points of view, honesty and integrity. I thrive on affection.
Affection can be a smile, a hug or just a loving, understanding look that tells me "I know". I believe that affection, respect for each other and love form the basis of a good relationship.

I am also a born-again Christian and have been for twenty years. I have very high moral values and I do not like swearing and crude language or pornography. Christ is my Saviour and to Him I give all the glory.

As a child I grew up with music - sing-songs around the piano in the evenings. If you know "Bluebird of Happiness", "Rose of England", "The Rose of Tralee" or "We'll gather lilacs", and you can sing it, I can play it. I love all animals. I grew up in the far northern Transvaal and know all the flowers and fruit of the veld. That is where I am at home and that is where my heart is.

I can also bake the best melktert (milktart) in the world.

I am interested in a friend who can understand me, respect me and who has a mature outlook on life. If you can take my hands in yours and thank God for all the small, beautiful but unnoticed things in this life and the wonder of creation, you are the one I am looking for.
