I Would Describe Myself As
I've been a born again child of God since 17th November 1971. I love going to church. Can't help it. Just love it. Love the people, the music, the Word of God, the fellowship,the worship, Love God, love being in His presence with His people singing praises.
I absolutely love reading. Have three books by my bedside, books on my phone, books in my office, books in my car, books in the toilet. Most of all love reading my Bible and meditating in it. It's amazing what the Holy Spirit can reveal to you when you delight yourself in His Word everyday. I have many fond memories of how he comforted me in my darkest hours and how the scriptures shed light on my situation and strengthened my heart.
Other than personal motivation and spiritual growth, I like to read about the life of Jesus discovering His character, His ways, His method of reasoning and the source of His internal motivation and personal faith. He is amazing! I mean He was miles ahead in his day spiritually, socially and emotionally of anyone on this planet. I am totally amazed at the things He said and how He handled people and situations. I can never get enough of Him.
I also read quite a bit about church history, church growth and development and church management. Its just a fascinating topic. I mean the church is the only organisation established by our unseen, invisible Heavenly Father on this planet which He still governs and works in today. If you want to know a person, go to their house. If you want to know what God is up to then go to His house, the Church.
So, having been a regular church-goer ever since I can remember, and thats over 50 years now, I am fascinated with how God has been working in the church, empowering, educating, maturing, changing, developing, positioning and restoring His house. It has been an exciting thing to watch and be a part of it. And I love it. Maybe I must write a book. Hmmmm?!?!
About myself. I'm a gentleman from the old school. Can't help it. It's just who I am. I will stand up when you enter the room, I open car doors for you, adjust your chair when you sit down and help you with your coat when you leave. Did I say I love shopping? Because just being close to you and able to see you interact with others, decide on what to buy, inquiring for help from shop assistants and being with you is inspiring for me. To just look at you and then close my eyes and still see and hear you in my mind, smell your perfume and your hair. What a privilege and blessing for a man to have his heart utterly captivated by a woman God created just for him!
Many men live lonely selfish lives because they are self centred and egotistical. They wish to be served rather than to serve, unlike Jesus. Everyone must be available at their beck and call but when God calls, they are either deaf, too busy or disobedient. I can't understand that attitude. Jesus went all the way to the cross and then stayed there to give His life for ours. What can we give Him in return? All we have is what he gave us, our own lives. That's all we have to give. So why not give it and see it come back pressed down shaken together and running over abundantly.
I play acoustic and electric guitar for fun. Love and play fusion jazz. Also love digital wristwatches. Absolutely love Star Wars, Star Trek and Sci-Fi adventure movies where the good guy defeats the evil aliens and gets the girl. Yep, Love it! Also like to take a break from studies to watch an episode or two of my favourite science fiction series.
Then I love to tinker around the house fixing and repairing things. I'm not a good gardener, honestly. My late dad was a good one but I am not. Did I say my mother is still alive and living on her own, fiercely independent with an amazing sense of humour? She still cooks and bakes regularly. I like to visit her once a month and then we go out for tea and cake and just enjoy some time together. Must go more often.
All the children are married now.
So that's about it.
