I love the Lord and thoroughly enjoy going to church. Have been Southern Baptist all my life. I play the keyboard in our praise band and have accompanied our senior adult choir for 13 years. My marriage has lasted 19 1/2 years and will be over at the end of August. For 18 years I have been at home taking care of my amazing daughters, baking bread, making jelly, sewing, quilting, working on our fixer-upper house. I have homeschooled for the past 13 years. My oldest is off to college this fall, and I'm still homeschooling my 7th grader. I am looking for a godly man who will be the spiritual head of the household and who will love me as Christ loved the church. I am extremely affectionate, thoughtful, giving, and sweet, but I need some of this to be reciprocated and appreciated. For 3 years I taught high school English and speech before I had children. I want a man who will be happy to see me when he comes home from work and who will think about me while he is away. He should love God first but then should put me before anyone else, because no one else is bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh. I enjoy taking care of my family, gardening, interior decorating, working out at the gym, entertaining friends & family in the backyard on paper plates or in the dining room on the best china. My spiritual gifts are administration and service, and my personality is "melancholy" (which does NOT mean that I'm sad. :) ))) In general I am much better one-on-one than in large groups of strangers, where I tend to be very quiet. I have a lot of love to give and am looking for someone to love me in return. I'm 5'7" and would prefer someone at least 5'10" but am actually more attracted to men over 6 feet tall (I think "tall" is really sexy). I can't tolerate smokers. Smoking is nasty and unhealthy and expensive, and NO ONE should smoke...just my personal opinion. I am a very good cook but not a fancy cook. I eat healthy foods for the most part but splurge on holidays and special occasions. Typing and spelling are two things I do very well, but I am not a math or science or computer person, much to my older daughter's dismay. I cannot abide someone who lies or breaks a promise. The way I was raised, if you say you will do it, then do it. If you aren't serious about doing something, don't say you will. I want a man I can trust and admire and respect. I am not willing to have another child at my age, but I would welcome a special someone else's children, and adoption can also be discussed. I have had the best time raising my girls. They are sweet and thoughtful and crazy about babies and little kids. We cook together, sing together, take walks together. I sew with my older one and play the piano with my younger one. They will tell you I'm the best mommy in the world, and I will tell you that I have prayed for wisdom and have tried really hard every day to be the best Christian mother I could be. That has been my career, and I LOVE it. But I am also very lonely and searching for someone to fill that void. I have done more praying and Bible studying in the last year (since my separation) than ever before in my life. It's been wonderful to get closer to the Lord. My heart's desire is to be married to someone who will help me serve the Lord even better than I could on my own.
