Woman of Faith

Kuvailisin itseäni

First, I am child of God and He is first in my life. He has blessed me with an amazing 5 yeard old son whom I spend a lot of time with. After a very interesting career path, I am a teacher at a local Christian school and it is the best career I have ever been blessed with. I teach high school English and history, as well as speech and drama.

The past five years have taken me on a journey that included caring for my mom as a 3 year stage IV cancer survivor. She passed last summer. It included many other challenges, but the greatst gift at the same time - I learned to live life simply by letting God live through, worth through, and love through me. I have never been closer to the Lord, though I was saved at age 12.

Of course, I see His will in my life and the person He would have for me as a partner, friend, and hopefully love of a lifetime. He would of course be a man of God. I learned the hard way over many years that God really did mean that "evenly yoked" direction! (-:

I believe respect comes before love and is as important if not more important than any feelings of love. I also believe in laughter, peace, joy in the simple things, and using one's gifts for His glory. I believe in being mutually supportive, encouraging, and compassionate. Someone who enjoys children is a must, as I am definitely a package deal! (-:

So much more to share and will willingly do so as I get to know someone. I am a people person, but also content with time just with me. I'm a talker and a writer! So...long messages tend to be one of my habits! And I do sometimes take the long way around to tell a story.

I enjoy local school sports events (Friday night football games in the fall and basketball in the Winter are the best - I'm learning soccer as it's big at my school and my son will start to play this spring!) Equally - I enjoy the theatre, movies, church events, festivals - and yes, even a tractor pull or two (I'm as comfortable in jeans as an evening dress - it's a cliche - but true!)

I look for a friend first...foundations are so vital to all relationships. And it's God's pace and His plan! Blessings in your search!

I think the first date is unique to the chemistry between two people. It could be a coffee or ice cream and good conversation or it could be attending a poetry reading or theatre performance. It just depends - but the most important element is that there is time for talking.

Horseback riding and Skydiving (-:

I am sure I'll get the horseback riding in - but not sure of the skydiving. The list used to include hot air balloon riding and Harley riding - I've checked those both off and enjoyed both immensely!

to allow God total freedom to live through me and to use me for His glory. I strive to be the best Mom possible to the gift He has given me in my son. And, I would love to strive towards being the Prov 31 woman - a true partner and blessing to the man He has planned for me.
