I'm a divorced dad with two daughters (26 and 12). I have sole physical custody of the 12 year old. I am very active in their lives.
For the 12 year old, I make sure I'm at every school activity, volunteer for her girl scouts and create opportunities for her to invite friends over for fun days. I enjoy taking her and her friends to movies, museums or other entertainment/history locations.
For the 26 year old, I made it a priority to support her in every way while she was in college so she can focus on her studies. With her in a Ph D. program I would have to say it paid off. She is happily married now and lives in Illinois.
My family is the first priority and everything else will fall into its proper place.
