Looking for my soulmate

This past summer, I went on a mission team to Kenya to work with a group of teenagers I help sponsor to attend high school. Each of my teammates and I were given a handful of students to work with. I decided to start off by telling them about myself, even the tough things, like how hard it was to come to Kenya that year because my Dad had just been diagnosed with a fast-moving cancer. The students listened and then amazed me by pouring out their own hearts and sharing both the amazing and tragic parts of their lives with the group. When I rejoined the other American team members, they all commented that they felt that they were not able to get their groups to open up. That?s when I realized that getting to know someone else?s true self requires that you open your own true self to them first. So I?ve decided to give a glimpse of myself here on this website, in the hopes that the Christian man I am hoping to find will recognize the girl he?s always longed to find to share his life with and will be moved to write back. (Sure, I?m a dreamer, but God?s done greater miracles than that; after all, my Dad was still here when I got back from Kenya!)

If I were asked to list the four things I couldn?t live without, they would be God, family/friends, a purpose in life, and animals/nature. Number five would be a very close tie between ice cream and chocolate! (Yes, I do have a bit of a sweet tooth?) I love to travel to new places, especially other countries. I am amazed at all of the ways people everywhere are similar, despite the differences in cultures or possessions. I also enjoy reaching out to others, like the students I mentioned earlier; I believe that we are blessed to be a blessing to others and that we are here to share life?s journey with those we meet along the way.

Here at home, I have a passion for music, a good story, rollerblading, animals (cats, dogs, anything furry), and teaching youth/kids. My most adventurous activity was working at a High Ropes/Teambuilding course for two years, something I?d love to pursue again if the course ever re-opened. At church, I am active in the music and mission ministries. I am blessed to have many of my family members live nearby, including two Godchildren, both in first grade, who can always make me laugh. While my family continues to deal with my Dad?s battle with cancer, we have also become even closer to each other and have come to rely on our faith and our many friends? support/prayers to sustain us. (It?s true that you discover who your friends are during tough times and I am touched to the core to have so many there for me.) I enjoy living in Wisconsin near my family and would only change two things if I could: Wisconsin?s winters would be a bit shorter--December to February would be fine with me--and there would be a mountain or two to hike up, as Rib Mountain doesn?t count as a ?real? mountain in my book.

I am looking for a Christian man who has a passion for life, a heart for others, and a desire to share his dreams with the love of his life. There are so many things I?d like to share with him: long walks at sunset, travel experiences, family time, snuggling next to a warm fire in the winter, sharing life?s ups and downs and supporting each other along the way. I?d love to explore his interests and hobbies and share mine as well. I do believe that a successful relationship requires shared values/faith, a willingness to be open and communicate, and a good sense of humor. I think a relationship between two people is one of life?s greatest adventures?Are you up for the challenge? If your answer is yes, I?m looking forward to hearing from you!
