I Would Describe Myself As

Quiet but energetic. Thoughtful and talkative. I have been a working mom, and still working, though not actively parenting as my children, of whom I am very proud, are grown and happily independent. My ideal mate would enjoy sharing and leading in a daily walk with the Lord, praying together about our praises and concerns, sharing treasures garnered from the scriptures and laying our burdens before Him. Since the great changes in my family, I have been able to enjoy forging new friendships with brothers and sisters in the Lord, like sitting with sick friends, helping chauffeur others to and from the airport, or just sharing a trip to Costco with a young mom, painting a hallway, packing boxes for friends who are moving or babysitting for a young couple who need a well-deserved night out. Such activities come with the great responsibility of keeping closed (?) counsel and remembering that my presence in a Christian sibling’s life is to be an encouragement to good works, not a stumbling block, and called to carry one another’s burdens with clear intent to protect every confidence and hold to the mandate to love one another as Christ loves the church and gave Himself for it. I am trying to refer to what Paul writes about young widows not to be busy bodies. These sound like high words as I write, but I am determined to use the circumstances in which the Lord has placed me, to live before Him carefully and joyfully so I can know Him more and, hopefully, be a good example of the believers, especially to my children who are a real support to me, now.
