I Would Describe Myself As

Hi. This kind of reminds me of saying the Boy Scout oath when I was in my early teens. A scout is: Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and Reverent. I can honestly say I'm genuinely friendly towards people, which is in part due to my sanguine personality and also due to the fact the Jesus lives in my heart. I became a SDA in 1978 at the age of 24. I was introduced to the SDA church through some friends and after attending a series of meetings in downtown Palo Alto, I fell in love with my Savior and made the decision to be baptized. I have worked primarily in sales most of my adult life and have also served the church as a Literature Evangelist, Lay Pastor and Bible Worker in the Central and Northern California Conference. I prefer country and mountain living to being in the city or suburbs and plan to leave the Bay Area soon for a more rural setting. I love reading and studying the Bible and SOP and enjoy being involved in ministry. I was blessed with good DNA and have been a good steward of the body God gave me having been on a vegetarian diet since 1982 and basically vegan for many years. To that end I'm still physically active and enjoy playing tennis, hiking, riding a bike, snow skiing, back packing and other outdoor activities. I have three adult children from two marriages, the last one having ended in 2010. I have always survived being single fairly well since I'm generally in a good mood and know how to keep my mind occupied with good thoughts, but lately I find that I long for the companionship, love and tenderness of a Spirit-filled woman. "It is not good for man to be alone". I'm very particular especially having gone through two failed marriages, and I want to be equally yoked with the woman God will choose (see Proverbs 3:5 and Jeremiah 10:23) but I know there is human effort and spiritual discernment involved as well. I have been told I have the gift of faith and want to bring to a relationship qualities of spiritual leadership, warmth, patience, Agape love and a spirit of cooperation and gentleness. I truly want all of the fruit of the Spirit to be seen in my life and live to the glory of God. I want to experience the "taste of heaven on earth" that Sister White says we can have when two hearts are fully surrendered to God and living to His glory is their motivation.
